Terms and Conditions of Use

By clicking on "AGREE" at the bottom of this page, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
  • The VA does not undertake the security of any data you send through the Wi-Fi System and it is your responsibility to secure such data.
  • Users of this service are responsible for their own Internet safety and security. Users are advised to protect themselves and their systems from viruses, computer worms, spyware, malware, scams, identity theft and malicious monitoring. Users are responsible for the protection and security of their own systems.
  • Access to this network is restricted to patients, visitors, and employees of the VA.
  • The VA and its authorized support services reserve the right to monitor the use of the Wi-Fi system for purposes related to security, management, system maintenance, and troubleshooting. As such, there is no expectation of privacy while using this public network.
  • During system monitoring, information may be examined, recorded, copied, and used for authorized purposes. If monitoring reveals possible evidence of criminal activity, including but not limited to child pornography, threats, harassment, copyright infringement, defamation, theft, and unauthorized access, the VA can provide records to law enforcement.
  • Access to this network may be disabled at any time. Your bandwidth may be limited based on your usage and the usage of others.
  • The VA makes its best effort to filter all content as it sees fit. You acknowledge that if you access the Internet you may receive or be exposed to content, goods or services which you consider to be improper, inaccurate, misleading, defamatory, obscene or otherwise offensive. You agree that the VA and its service providers are not liable with respect to any such content on the Internet accessible through the Wi-Fi System.
  • You agree that the VA may terminate this Agreement and cancel your access to the Wi-Fi System at any time. You further agree that in the event of termination for any reason or no-reason at all, the VA will have no liability to you.
  • The VA is not responsible for issues regarding access.

Acceptable Use Policy

All users of the Wi-Fi System must comply with this Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). The VA may block, filter or restrict by any other means any materials that, in our sole discretion, may be illegal, may subject the VA to liability or may violate this AUP. By clicking on "AGREE" at the bottom of this page, you are agreeing to follow this AUP in your usage of the Wi-Fi system. Violation of this AUP may result in the suspension or termination of your access to the Wi-Fi System.

You agree to not use the Wi-Fi System to:
  • Transmit any material (by uploading, posting, email or otherwise) that is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortious, defamatory, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.
  • Harm, or attempt to harm, minors in any way.
  • Access or attempt to access another's information without the owner's permission; misrepresenting oneself in electronic communication.
  • Use the VA Guest Network for commercial or profit-making purposes, including soliciting alms or contributions, vending, or debt collecting.
  • Peer-to-Peer software such as KaZaa, Bearshare, or Gnutella that can be used to share files such as music, movies, or software in violation of copyright laws is prohibited on all computers connected to the VA network (including the Guest Network). The VA does not support the download or distribution of these copyrighted files and any violation of this policy will result in revocation of guest network access.
  • Transmit, upload or record the video, audio, or image(s) of any individuals other than yourself without permission of those individuals or their legal guardians.
  • Use of the VA Guest Network to access gambling sites.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity; forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any material transmitted through the Wi-Fi System.
  • Transmit (by uploading, posting, email or otherwise) any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, "junk mail," "spam," "chain letters," "pyramid schemes" or any other form of solicitation.
  • Transmit any material (by uploading, posting, email or otherwise) that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to the Service; This includes but is not limited to interfering with others' use of the guest network and/or the activities of other users.
  • Intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law, or any regulations having the force of law.
  • "Stalk" or otherwise harass another; or collect or store, or attempt to collect or store, personal data about third parties without their knowledge or consent.
  • Resell or use the Wi-Fi System for high volume data transfers, especially sustained high volume data transfers, hosting a web server, IRC server, or any other server.

By clicking on "AGREE", I agree to the Terms and Conditions of the VA Guest Wi-Fi system and agree to the follow the guidelines of the Acceptable Use Policy in my use of the system.
